"T-Rex Dino Valley" Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle ' Pieces of Texas'
This T-Rex is one of two life size dinosaur statues greeting 21st century visitors to Dinosaur Valley State Park. Fifty years ago, as one of 9 dinosaur statues, they greeted visitors to the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The "Dino Land" exhibit was built by Sinclair oil company and included nine life-sized dinosaur statues, including Sinclair's Bronto mascot. The dinosaurs referred to the fossil fuels that are used to produce crude oil. After the fair, the exhibit toured the US and two of the dinosaurs ended up in the smallest county in Texas, where fossils and dinosaur tracks were so common they were taken for granted. They were appropriately and timely donated to the State Park. The Paluxy River runs through the park and is famous for viewing several species of dinosaur tracks and hiking the cliffs overlooking the river. Today, Rex and Bronto are the unofficial park hosts and are vital to the local economy.
All puzzles have a Texas-shaped "signature" puzzle piece and come in a keepsake durable glass display jar with a metal screw on lid.
